The Lecturer:
PETER JENX
On my first trip to Thailand in 1991 I knew I would end up living there. That thought wasn’t through the usual benefits of living there, it was because the thinness of the veil was similar to that in the UK. The difference with Thailand is that they kept their ancient spiritual practices, their love of ghosts, the legends, and a spirituality that is the core of the culture itself.
I have always had magician friends and spent many years hanging out with Peter Christopherson, but never decided to follow magic myself until around 2015. Things had changed in my life and I subconsciously sought a new path, and Thai magic came forward. On discovering that there was a floor of a department store that was dedicated to amulets in North Bangkok, I started to hang out there and began asking questions to gain an understanding as to what was available.
The first amulet I acquired was a Hoon Payon as a Muay Thai fighter that was made of twigs by Luang Phor Amnat, and my life took off like a rocket. Luang Phor Amnat was also the first magician I met, which was at the same location and I felt privileged to be able to experience this side of the culture – so I delved further.
I quickly realised that the information available often contradicted itself and seemed incomplete, even to my inexperienced eyes. On starting to collate what we thought we knew resulted in releasing the first book on the subject, and it also brought a demand from within to try to understand why it was me doing this? Five books followed before I started to find out about myself within the system. I had been accepted by the Ajarns of Chiang Mai and became close to a few of them, but it was Ajarn Apichai who provided the information that would lead to a new way to understand this form of ancient magic. This all made sense of the path of my life, and why it was possible to work out a new way to bring forth the fruits of the Thai Occult.
The information was always there, but no one had asked the right questions.
